Genn Tayrona’s rates are expressed in Colombian pesos (COP) per accommodation per night and include only what is stated in your booking confirmation, for example breakfast or the experiences that form part of an offer. Rates, inclusions, and maximum occupancy are those stated in your confirmation.
Unless otherwise indicated, rates do not include VAT or other taxes or charges established by law, which are disclosed before confirming the booking and settled according to the rules in force on the dates of the stay. Foreign tourists not resident in Colombia may be exempt from VAT on accommodation if they prove their status with a passport and a valid entry stamp or permit at check-in.
Quotes may change without notice until the booking is confirmed. Any conversion to another currency shown on the site or in the booking engine is indicative: charges are made in Colombian pesos.
Genn Tayrona reserves the right to cancel a stay before the arrival date for justified reasons; in that case all advance payments for accommodation are refunded in full.
Every booking requires a valid credit card as a guarantee and is confirmed once the deposit and the payments indicated below have been received. The hotel may release the booking without notice if payment is not received within the stated period.
We accept credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and PSE payments through the secure payment link we send with your confirmation. The card used must be presented on arrival together with the cardholder’s ID document.
Confirmation of bookings for several accommodations requires the full names of the guests of each one.
If you cannot travel or do not use the confirmed accommodation and services, cancellation charges may apply. A change of dates or length of stay is subject to availability and may involve a change of rate; a modification may be treated as a cancellation. If the stay is shortened, the cancellation policy applies to the cancelled nights. Bank fees and exchange-rate differences are not refunded.
There is no free-cancellation option: every confirmed booking is subject to the following charges, calculated on the total value of the booking including taxes and counted from the hotel’s acknowledgment of the cancellation, which must be requested in writing through the hotel’s official channels.
Modifications: more than 30 days in advance, free of charge and subject to availability and the rate in force; between 15 and 30 days, with a 10% administrative charge; with less than 15 days, modifications are not accepted and any change is processed as a cancellation. Refunds, where applicable, are made by bank transfer within thirty (30) business days.
Minimum stay: in high season and on long weekends a minimum stay of 2 nights may be required.
Early departures and no-shows: an early departure incurs a charge of 100% of the unused nights, with no proportional refund. If you neither arrive nor cancel the booking, the full value of the stay is charged; the room is held in your name for twelve hours after check-in time.
Travel insurance: Genn Tayrona does not grant exceptions to its cancellation policy for medical or personal reasons, weather conditions, road or natural-area closures, or other circumstances beyond the hotel’s control. We recommend purchasing suitable travel insurance before confirming.
Genn Tayrona’s glamping tents accommodate up to 2 guests and the bungalows up to 6 guests. The maximum occupancy of each accommodation is the one stated in your confirmation and may not be exceeded.
All guests, including children, must register upon arrival with their ID document. Minors stay accompanied by their parents or by a responsible adult with their written authorization, in accordance with Colombian law.
Genn Hotels rejects the sexual and commercial exploitation of children and adolescents and complies with Law 679 of 2001 and Law 1336 of 2009: any conduct of this kind is reported to the authorities.
Check-in: from 3:00 PM. Early check-in is subject to availability on the day of arrival.
Check-out: until 12:00 PM. Late check-out is subject to availability: until 6:00 PM a charge of 50% of the nightly rate applies, and after that time a full night is charged.
Getting here: Genn Tayrona is approximately 1 hour from Simón Bolívar Airport in Santa Marta. With your confirmation we send you directions and can arrange a private transfer from the airport or from Santa Marta for a fee, depending on the vehicle; please let us know of any change to your itinerary at least 24 hours in advance.
Registration: upon arrival we will ask for each guest’s ID document and complete the accommodation registration required by Colombian law.

Pets: allowed for a charge of COP 80,000 per stay. They may not get on the beds or furniture; if they cause damage or soil the bed, a charge of COP 300,000 applies for deep cleaning, disinfection, and replacement.
Unregistered visitors: the accommodations and hotel areas are for the exclusive use of registered guests. The restaurant welcomes visitors with a prior reservation; a restaurant reservation does not grant access to the other areas.
Payment of bills: the balance of the stay and any charges are paid by card or bank transfer. Cash is accepted in Colombian pesos.
Groups and events: bookings of more than 3 accommodations, as well as weddings, celebrations, and corporate events, are handled directly with our team through the Events page.
Smoking: smoking is not allowed in the accommodations or in enclosed areas, in accordance with Law 1335 of 2009; guests who wish to smoke must do so outside the hotel premises.
Drones: for the safety and privacy of our guests and out of respect for the natural environment, drones may not be operated at the hotel or in its surroundings without the hotel’s prior written authorization; within Tayrona National Natural Park their use is restricted by the environmental authority.
Natural environment: the hotel sits between the jungle and the sea of Tayrona: there is wildlife, surf, and ocean currents. Please follow the team’s instructions, swim only in the designated areas, do not feed the animals, and respect the rules of Tayrona National Natural Park during your visits. The beach does not have lifeguard service.
Quiet and courtesy: please respect the rest of other guests and the surroundings, especially between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
Damages and valuables: damage to the facilities is charged to the responsible guest. We recommend keeping your valuables in the safe available at reception; the hotel’s liability for guests’ belongings is governed by the Colombian Commercial Code.
Personal data: the data you provide for your booking is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Applicable law: these conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia and by the Consumer Statute (Law 1480 of 2011), and are supplemented by the website’s Terms of Use.
